Longtharai Power Private Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Ltd. (TSECL) to establish a solar power plant in the state with a proposed investment of Rs 45 crore. The proposed solar power project aims to boost clean energy generation while supporting the state’s transition towards sustainable and environmentally friendly infrastructure. According to the company, the project reflects its commitment to promoting green energy and contributing to Tripura’s long-term economic and industrial development.

Once implemented, the solar power plant is expected to generate clean and renewable electricity, helping reduce carbon emissions and supporting India’s broader climate and sustainability goals. The initiative is also expected to create employment opportunities for local communities during both the construction and operational phases.

In addition, the project is expected to enhance Tripura’s energy security by increasing the share of renewable energy in the state’s power mix, thereby supporting reliable and sustainable electricity supply for future growth.

Longtharai Power Private Limited stated that renewable energy is not merely an investment in infrastructure but an investment in a sustainable future. The company expressed its commitment to working closely with the Government of Tripura, TSECL, and other stakeholders to successfully implement the project.

The MoU is expected to further strengthen Tripura’s efforts to attract investments in the renewable energy sector while contributing to the state’s vision of achieving cleaner, greener, and more sustainable development.
